White wine is good, you drink it cold (unlike red), and its refreshing. I drink a few glasses of wine at night during the week, then rage out with beer with the guys on a weekend. Ask him what he thinks of his drinking. (don't suggest he has a problem at this point.) If he thinks he is fine with it, then you have a bigger problem. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. By the same token, you can tell someone they have a problem, but they won't believe you unless they see it to. If he doesn't think he has a drinking problem, say that worried about his! drinking habits and you'd like to talk to him about them. Don't nag, ! don't *****, just say what concerns you. He might blow you off, but there isn't much you can do about this. Its his life to live. (You can cut off all contact with him, but even that might not help him.)I'd also ask him to talk to his doctor about this. Not just the drinking, but why he's in pain all the time. (don't forget, you're not supposed to drink and take pain med, big no no.) Drinking to kill pain isn't something one should do. Donnell Nocella: Jack and coke is my favorite, but it doesn't really matter what drink you get it is how you order it. If it really matters to you, the best rule is nothing that is fruity. Straight drinks are good, but it really depends on what you can stand. Margaritas are not necessarily a girly drink in the right atmospheres.
