How can I sue my dentist?

How can I sue my dentist?

answers 0:I'm 18 years old, I was going in for a check up and my mom took me. After my check up my dentist told me to floss more, just like always. He treated it like it was another visit. While I was getting my teeth clean my mom and dentist talked, he tOld her I was either making myself throw-up or I was on meth. He's been my dentist since 5th grade. I dont do drugs and i don't make myself sick. When my dentist told my mOm she took me home and yelled at me and kicked me out of her house. I want to sue him for the trouble he has given me and my family....Show moreanswers 1:Haha, have fun.answers 2:If you are 18 and you didn't sign a paper waiving your rights under HIPPA then you may have a case. Call lawyers in your area for a free consultation to see if they want to take your case. You should look for a lawyer who only collects if you win so you aren't saddled with legal fees ! if you don't get the outcome you want. Lawyers that make those type of arrangements are less likely to need a costly retainer up front.answers 3:get a lawyer..first off he is breaking patient doctor confidenalitly!!!answers 4:I bet you did something bad to him. REVENGE *****.answers 5:Anna, sorry to hear about the trouble. That sounds like a real mess. First off, dentists and doctors are usually right about that sort of thing (meth-mouth and the like are pretty common these days, as is dental damage from throwing up) so the dentist was probably pretty certain that he knew what he was talking about. That said, it's not reasonable to make that kind of assertion if he's not 100% correct. Really, saying those things can ruin lives. I don't advocate suing the dentist (your case will take a long time to get adjudicated and it will cost you a lot of money; money that you may have a difficult time recovering, even if you do manage to get a lawyer who will work on commish'. This! is even if you could prove some kind of HIPPA violation - whi! ch you'll want to look into anyhow). My advice would be to go to another dentist and explain your situation. Ask him or her to look at your teeth and offer his or her professional opinion. Get this in writing if at all possible. If your second dentist sees the condition of your teeth, and can give you (in writing!) a different medical opinion, I would return to the "bad dentist" and demand an apology to you and your family. You might even manage to get a financial settlement. (Unlikely, but possible). And if you're feeling vindictive, you could always use your second dentist's opinion and threaten to sue your dentist. Not that it's all that wise, but it could work. Two final notes. First, take care of your dental enamel. If your dentist is concerned that you're doing meth, by all means, take care of yourself. That is hardcore damage, especially if you're young. Second, try to fix the mess with your family. It's super embarrassing when someone in a position of author! ity accuses you of something and f's up your day... but what's more important is staying on good terms with your family. So there you have it. That's my advice. Get a second opinion, use that opinion as leverage. I wish you all the luck in the world....
