Our government can only push it as far as they can because of $$$$$$$$$.Auto company's can not afford to go "cold turkey" on regular fuel until enough research and cost of producing these fuel saving automobiles are compilable to those of us who are all ready suffering because of importing oil and refining it. The U.S has not built any new refineries in years. And because of that and also that no one back in the day looked at oil & gas as being a limited resource. Mikel Bethay: they already are. Look at what is coming in the next year or two from all the companies. Keep in mind normal car design changes/new models can take 6 to 10 years to make it to your dealer.
